It's All About the Hand Dance

So being this is the first entry in a non-angsty, non-high school blog, I believe some explaining is in order. First, I love to read, I will write about what I read, and yes, I did name my blog after the great Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Second, obviously because the 3rd part of the first insight, I am kind of a nerd. Third, I am a writer, and therefore, occasionally some of my personal writings will find their way onto here. Finally, I love to hand dance.

Now hand dancing is a very interesting personal phenomena.I have come to the conclusion that it can make anyone, and I do mean anyone, happy. It is seemingly impossible to describe the hand dance in words, so maybe one day I will link a video of it to show the world the total awesomeness (and in no way in the overuse of the word, but instead in the actual sublime meaning of AWESOME) of the hand dance. My only reasoning for mentioning this is due to the fact that my original choice for URL is already used. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with this, but the blog was written in ONCE in 2005; lame.

Currently, there are 45 books on my shelf that need reading. What can I say, they were closing all the Border's bookstore in my area, and they were on sale. Cliche excuse? Maybe, but let's be honest, how many times has it been used to purchase books? Purses, maybe; clothes and shoes, definitely. In my case, it is almost always books. My mom said to me the last time I came home with a large Border's bag, "Alex, you may need to go virtual." To which I responded, "Mom, how dare you speak such blasphemy!" No exaggeration, that is what I said to her. I love the way books smell, I love the way they feel, and most importantly, I love to see my progression in the book, and I feel some strange sense of accomplishment as I near the end of pages.

So, my completion of these 45 books, along with my crazy love of music, the hand dance, baking (which was not mentioned before but totally going to be involved), along with my random philosophies, and some of my personal writing will be the premise of this blog.

And if you are reading this, enjoy! After all, that is what life, the universe, and everything is all about!
